VT House Adoption of JRH 2, A State Eugenics Apology, on Third Reading

On its third and final reading, the VT House of Representatives voted unanimously to adopt JRH 2: a “Joint resolution sincerely apologizing and expressing sorrow and regret to all individual Vermonters and their families and descendants who were harmed as a result of State-sanctioned eugenics policies and practices.” Action on the bill is at 7:45 into the video.

The vote is recorded in the House Journal for April 1, 2021 here (second page). The bill will pass to the Senate next for confirmation by that body.
