A partner event worth sharing, demonstrating a collaborative learning approach with a leading land conservation organization in the State of Vermont. Elnu Abenaki are working with VLT to conserve sacred lands at the Wantastekw/West River in today’s Town of Brattleboro. For this year’s annual meeting, held online for the first time with the highest attendance ever, President Nick Richardson (at 3:16) offered a meaningful, committed Land Acknowledgement and asked Atowi’s Director Rich Holschuh (at 5:15) to welcome attendees to the virtual gathering. The keynote address, given by Vermont’s new Executive Director of Racial Equity Xusana Davis (at 20:00) was engaging and challenging, in all the right ways.
