Testimony On H.126 with VT House Committee on Environment & Energy

Testimony offered in support of H.126 on Feb. 21, 2023, before the VT House Committee on Environment & Energy, with Chair Amy Sheldon. There were a lot of technology issues that day, with no ability for dialogue due to audio feedback, but a short statement was shared and received. The bill - “An act relating to community resilience and biodiversity protection” - is known better as the “30 by 30” initiative, and directs the State of Vermont to join the national and global movement to conserve 30% of the Land by 2030, and 50% by 2050. We need to start, not only on this intention, but also the changes of values and behavior that will begin to reflect a recognition of reciprocal responsibilities to our Mother and to All of Our Relations.
