American White Water Lily - Nymphaea odorata

Known in Abenaki as mskata, plural mskatak, locative form mskatak.

Floating leaves and flowers - very fragrant - preferring still or slow-moving clean freshwater up to 8 ft. deep, with a mucky bottom and full sun at the surface.

Leaves used for colds and swollen joints, juice of roots used for coughs.
